Monday, here comes another week - can you believe we're in JUNE?

Morning readers,

Welcome to the first Monday in June, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and that the weather was nice, where you are!

I'm starting my week with lunch today, with my two oldest friends, poor hubs will have to fend for himself AND be on the lookout for two parcels I'm expecting! No, neither will be craft related!

I've a make to share with you today ....... an Artist Trading Card, I love the scale of these little (3½" x 2½") cards. This one used LOTS of snippets, always good - mind you, there's still a MOUNTAIN  of them ...

My finished ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Black and white, black, white and neon snippets to make up this layout
  • Avery Elle sentiment (from ST18-07) and Paper Artsy Zinsky image (from ZA58) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Neon sharpies used to colour image
  • Crystal stickles to bling up the dancing chook's crown and bracelet!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. As You Like It - June challenge - PASTELS or BRIGHTS - I love the pop of such a bright colour - you just GOTTA look!
  2. Gem of a Challenge - challenge No. 11 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Polkadoodles - challenge No. 22 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Lost Coast Portal - challenge No. 168 - "MINI ME" (smaller than a card)
  5. Crafts Galore Encore - challenge No. 112 - ANYTHING GOES
And now for a card .. this one actually started off as a much brighter project (though not QUITE as bright as the neon of the ATC above) but, turns out, I picked up a DIRTY makeup brush - SHAME on me! Turns out, I really liked the sludgier shade of yellow but I hasten to add that, as soon as I finished making the card, I washed that makeup brush! My next yellow project SHOULD be the right shade of dandelion, still, good to know that even a bright yellow makes for an interesting colour - when using a dirty brush! I  have learned my lesson though, always clean your brushes!

My C6 card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white, beige and black, for my card front, insert and matting
  • Using my new Wendy Vecchi Make Art Say-tion to secure my project, I masked off my strips and, using a makeup brush and a Stamplorations "nestling circles" stencil I applied Memento dandelion ink
  • Tim Holtz image (from THMM159 - 2023 - NBUS) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Clearly Besotted sentiment (from "mini calligraphy") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. NBUS - challenge No. 51 - USE NBUS
  2. HLS - June BIRTHDAY challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Seize the Birthday - challenge No. 262 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) MAKE IT POP
  4. Creatalicious - challenge No. 260 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) BIRTHDAY
  5. Di's Digi Designs - May 26th challenge - BIRTHDAY

I was lucky enough to win the fab prize over at the Snippets Playground recently (challenge No. 454) - thank you SO much for picking my number out of the hat, Di!

My prize

And, there I was, cleaning my stamps/stencils/brushes in the kitchen sink when this cheeky little squirrel stopped by ... so I watched him/her for a few minutes

And, a friend and I spent a happy hour or so at a herb farm on Friday, didn't even know of it's existence - just a half hour drive away!! Every kind of herb under the sun, 30 different kinds of mint! Who knew! Nice little herb related gift shop, tea, coffee, herb water, cake and delicious locally made ice cream - perfect. A really interesting talk on the herbs too, by Jekka McVicar a gardener and author

I love your bright and pretty ATC Kathy with that fun and quirky image, and the bright yellow looks great with the black and white, and then the card with that wonderful masked stencilled strip background with the super silhouette flowers/foliage image which works beautifully over the top..that WV Stay-tion looks like a great piece of kit too. Congratulations also on winning that lovely prize over at the playground and hope you enjoyed your lunch..love that photo of the squirrel too. x

Great job of "saving" the card. It's so disappointing when it doesn't turn out the way we were thinking. However, I think that the final result is lovely. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Birthday Challenge. Apologies for the late comment.
