Monday and another week is off at a gallop!

Morning readers,

My first make of the day today ... is a Christmas card, still trying to play catch up!!

My C6 card

Materials used:

  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and envelope
  • Card in white and navy, for my card front, insert and matting layer
  • Impressions Obsession image (G8286 - Snowy pine bough) stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Lawn Fawn sentiment (from Happy Happy Add-on, September 2025 and NBUS) stamped using Brilliance Mediterranean blue ink
  • Coloursoft pencils to add a little colour and stardust stickles, to add sparkle to the snow on the pine bough and the larger sentiment

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

  1. NBUS - challenge No. 79 - USE NBUS
  2. Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday challenge - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  3. Pattie's Creations - challenge No. 235 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Simply CAS - October challenge - ANYTHING CAS GOES
  5. Jingle Belles - October challenge - DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW

I've another make to share with you today ... I can't quite persuade myself whether this make is "splendidly CAS" or whether I need to add something. I've deliberately left off a greeting so it can fit any occasion but am wondering whether I need a die cut (say a flower or foliage) or perhaps some gemstones - any thoughts? I am, however, quite pleased with the way the ribbon co-ordinates with my matting layer.

My C6 card

Materials used:

  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and envelope
  • Card in white and green (DCWV mat stack of plain/patterned papers), for my card front, insert and matting layer
  • Grosgrain ribbon
  • Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • Elsewhere on the card I used an Inkylicious foliage image (delicate vines) stamped using Ranger Archival library green ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

  1. Polkadoodles - challenge No. 11 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 310 - ANYTHING GOES

That's a lovely pine branch, very delicate. The second card is, as you say, fine as it is but possibly a very light touch of colour (or glitz) to highlight the embossing would just give it that little 'something'.

Fab Christmas card with your pine bough and large sentiment.

Love the CAS card, but my thoughts are that it needs something else added. Perhaps a die-cut oval with a sentiment on it and glued to the middle of the ribbon? Or if you don't want a sentiment on the card, I agree that a die-cut piece of foliage glued onto the ribbon would do the trick. xxx

I love the pine branch and a lovely sized sentiment to finish it Kathy, and the second card with the embossed background looks great with the added ribbon, and like Sarn I think a sprig of foliage would finish it beautifully. x
