Morning readers,
Coasting downhill to the weekend? Well, that might have been the plan but with the rain overnight I can't help but wonder if kayaking might be on the cards!!! Woken by a terrific thunderstorm and light show this morning too - YIKES! No walking for me today! Stay dry peeps!
I've a make to share with you today ....... along with a question for you ... how do YOU make your cards? Do you have an idea for the finished card, that you work towards? Or do you, perhaps, pick an element (image/sentiment/colour etc) and start from there? OK, so that turned in to more than one question, but .... I'm interested in your answers. I started this card by deciding to use this particular stencil and chose to use two ink colours. Then it was, what to do next. I "rediscovered" the sentiment set in my stash recently and have used it several times lately (loving the big/small format) so decided to use that. Next .... it was a question of finding a suitable image that worked with both the stencilling and size of the sentiment. It kind of evolved rather than got planned and I probably went about the process entirely the wrong way but, actually, I'm really happy with the result - how do YOU make YOURS?

I do love these PB silhouette flowers and the pink DD stencilling is so pretty in the background, also the purple mat looks great too Kathy. You are quite right to give these mushrooms/toadstools a miss as it is not worth taking the risk unless you know exactly what they are, and sometimes the difference between good and bad is very subtle, unless they are bright red or yellow and have large spots all over them..lol, which we definitely know are not good to eat. x
I really love this card - great fonts, great stencil bg and lovely silhouette flowers over the top.
I often start my projects by selecting a stamp, then choosing a colour scheme.
If I’m using up a gelli print- that’s both my starting point & colour scheme, then it’s off to find stamps and stencils and snippets!
My final things are usually a sentiment and embellishments.

Love the card! Very wise to stay away from the mushrooms/ toadstools! My cards always sort of evolve, sometimes I don’t even know what I’m going to do. It might be a stamp, or a challenge theme as a starting point.
What a fantastic result the stencil was a good place to start. Your question made me think about my process which tbh is quite random. My starting point might be the person it is for, a challenge that has inspired a thought process, or a new (to me) technique being tried. I'm not sure I ever have any idea of how it will look finished when I start generally my projects grow organically. xx
So pretty! Love the stencilled background and the silhouette flowers. Thanks for playing at AAA Cards, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!
A Beautiful card, with of course your matching envelope, I love the shading and your stamps. As for how I make my cards? I choose something! and go from there, I wish I was a planner, it would be a lot easier and take a shorter time! Thank you so much for joining us in our challenge at QKR Stampede Good Luck and looking forward to seeing you again in our next challenge.

Love your CAS card. Beautiful silhouette image and mix of fonts! I really take a lot of advantage of the challenge world, for colours or theme or use the stamp I have bought new or not used in a while, while planning the card and mostly have it ready in my head (while doing chores) before I sit to work on it :D Thank you for joining in at AAA cards, Hugs ~ Ishani
