Today's project got away from me a bit - it was my shoe box project for Craftathon and SHOULD be completable in 30 minutes ... but .. I made several dud decisions on colour; initially my rock star panel was white card with neon colours but it looked wrong when placed on the monolith ..... cue Joseph's Coat technique on the white card panel instead, ah - MUCH better IMHO! You can see how time just got away from me, still, I'm pretty pleased with the front - not sure the back is what I would call quite "finished" yet - still pondering that one but, it's fine, I can revisit it at some point. I just hope everyone else enjoyed the project too!

Materials used:
- One mini monolith
- Gesso
- Acetate (for the floating notes)
- Music paper
- Black and white card - die cut, for the sentiment panel across the top of my piece
- Dylusions sprays: yellow, pink, turquoise
- That's Crafty Dinky stencils (bricks around a hole and repeating brick stencil)
- Modelling paste
- Versamark ink and mica powders in pink, biscotti and copper
- Inkadinkado Rock Star and ?? stamp sets
- Versafine onyx black and Ranger Archival jet black inks
- Distress Paint in picket fence and black soot, lime green and banana translucent acrylic paint
- Distress Inks in picked raspberry, carved pumpkin, broken china, black soot along with versamark ink and clear embossing powder (for the Joseph's Coat Technique used on the shaped sentiment panel - see materials 2)
- Kaisercraft music image (for base)
- Treasure Gold amethyst, for the outer edge of the entire piece
- Tissue paper and Stamplorations sentiment stamps

The object of the exercise was to have an example I could show my fellow attendees. I have duplicate materials to hand in case they wish to produce something similar however, aside from the basic mini monolith, I expect there will be few similarities, it's half of the fun though.

This is a fabulous piece of work Kathy and I adore the brick wall and the musical notes on the top, and the silhouette looks great in the black with the orange and pink and that touch of blue. and the back with the guitar and sentiment in that pretty green with the complementary music notes on the base. A very clever idea. x
