Saturday crafting ...

Hi there readers,

Well, what a great welcome home - rain! Mind you, I SHOULDN'T be surprised since it IS a Bank Holiday weekend and the one earlier in the month was glorious so ..... methinks it must be a "stay in and craft" day!

Cracked the seal on a recent acquisition (the Art Impressions get well set) and here's an ATC I made using it on kraft card. I don't do this often enough which is such a shame as coloured pencils work so beautifully on kraft card - hope you agree

My ATC
And a closer view of the colouring
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in black and kraft
  • Image and sentiment stamped using black ink
  • Pencils used to colour
Derwent coloursoft and Prismacolour scholar pencils
Art Impressions SC0681 and Stampers Anonymous THJ009 "Saying Stuff"
Memento tuxedo black ink
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. QKR Stampede - challenge No. 297 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 21 - ANYTHING (hand coloured) GOES
  3. Crafting with Friends - challenge No. 68 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 147 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Crafty Gals Corner - challenge No. 166 - ANYTHING GOES

And now, a "thinking of you" card - it's my belief that CAS (Clean And Simple) works great for this topic, one we all hate to make cards for but which we inevitably must....

My card
And a closer view of the image

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

  • Sentiment stamped using black ink which I also used to edge the card front
  • Leaf image stamped using the green and the splatter shadow using the grey
STAMPS: Concorde & 9th Lace leaf set and Avery Elle ST 18-07 "loads of wishes"
INKS: Ranger Archival library green, Memento London fog and tuxedo black
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-

Two fabulous projects! I love the elegance of your "thinking of you" card. I agree; simplicity does seem best for these type of cards. Thanks for playing with The House That Stamps Built.

very nice, not the funniest od cards to make, but I believe it's best to make some when you don;t need them as at that time you may not feel like it at all, it's good to have some on hand, even if you give them away. love the monochrome look
