Welcome to Hump Day Wednesday!

Morning all,

How's your post Easter week coming along? I hope you're not finding the weather too challenging .. is it Spring or still WINTER!?!?!?!

Anyhoo, with so many days being an excuse to stay in and craft you will NOT be surprised to see that I have been doing just that! I've been getting to play with Ranger and Memento inks, blending brushes and stencils this past week and loving the results. I've become so conditioned to using Distress Inks, which need setting upon completion but ..... I am loving both the freedom of the blending brushes and find that I am a big fan of not needing to set the inks too.

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of neon pink card cut to mat
  • Snippets of card in white and grey, die cut in to rectangles using MFT Faux stitched dies
  • Using my ALDI blending brushes I applied Memento ink London fog and Ranger Archival ink in vibrant fucshia before brushing both through my Memory Box sunray stencil
  • Imagination Crafts stencil using just the London fog ink
  • Penny Black bloom and MFT sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Poundstretcher black glitter washi tape

MFT  DC52 "Abstract Art" & BB49 "Bitty Bears", Penny Black "Allegra"
MFT Faux stitched rectangle nesting dies
Imagination Crafts mixed media stencil + Memory Box stencil 88505 grungy sunray
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 323 - USE SNIPPETS
  2. Kraftin' Kimmie - challenge 424 - GLITTER - here's hoping glitter washi tape counts! There was an optional sketch which I didn't use
  3. Sketch Saturday - challenge No. 507 - USE ANY PREVIOUS SKETCH ..... see below
  4. Just Us Girls - challenge No. 434 - WILD CARD WEEK - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  5. Gem of a challenge - challenge No. 216 - FEMALE BIRTHDAY CARD WITH SENTIMENT

It was soooo nice yesterday morning (aside from being woken up by dog barking, at 06:30) that I decided to get a headstart on the day ..... I was at The Range for 08:30, the Mall for 09:00 (!!!), came home via Aldi and was STILL home in time for coffee with hubby at 10:00!!! He then nipped out to get a hair cut and I nipped out again (figuring I might as well since I was, plainly, on a roll) and bought a pair of shoes!! Crikey, almost had to have a lie down after that lot!.... except I was out with a friend last evening, we had a great catch up - her new apartment is coming along a treat ... and a delicious dinner too.

This is so pretty Kathy and love the blending with those brushes, and the quite subtle background stencilling. I am looking for a sunray stencil at the mo:ent and thisMB one is great, but have searched and/am not finding itat the moment. Glad you had a good day yesterday with some mega quick shopping and then a lovely meal with your friend in the evening. We have three nights out on the trot so will need to be on a diet for the rest of the x

I just had a quick look too, Pat, and can't see anywhere in the UK stocking it. I SUSPECT I got it in the U.S. at some point - sorry

What a fabulous card Kathy! Wonderful how you've done the stenciling and I'm willing to bet those fabby brushes from Aldi cost a lot less than the ones I bought from a well known craft company a couple of years ago! And I love the neon pink - of course!

You are an efficient errand-doer and a social butterfly in addition to being a talented card artist, Kathy! I had to have a lie-down after reading about your day, but your brilliant snippets card revived me! Excellent design showcasing your pretty brush blending!! Hugs, Darnell
