Woo Hoo - it's Wednesday

Morning readers,

Well, after some freaky weather this week I'm kind of hoping Storm Brendan is pretty much done here and ready to move on!! Have to say that my poor garden is awash and squelchy!

Needless to day, I've had an excuse to spend time at my ToC (Table of Craftiness) so, I've a make to share with you today ....

My Artist Trading Card - without glare (flash)
This closer view shows the colours better
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in textured red (DCWV) and white
  • Using a makeup brush I applied Distress Ink tea dye all over the ATC
  • With my Memory Box grid stencil in place I applied frayed burlap through the lower right side and hickory smoke to the top left corner
  • CardzTV sentiment stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Paper Artsy small heart (JOFY JM20) stamped using Memento potters clay ink
  • Rubber Stampede key image stamped using Versafine Clair pinecone ink stamping repeat (and partial) images without re-inking
  • Once dry I applied a light layer of Crafters Companion Spray and Shine, to protect the water based inks

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 2002 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Use Your Stuff - challenge No. 389 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Stamps & Fun - challenge No. 359 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge No. 248 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Happy Little Stampers - January ATC challenge - MASCULINE - 3rd entry

And another make today ..... I entered the LIM colour challenge recently and discovered I actually quite liked the colours chosen so ... thought I'd have another go, this time making it masculine!

My card
My "coral" background
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of navy card, cut to mat
  • Using Scotch "low tack" tape I masked off a section for inking
  • Using a makeup brush and Distress Inks in wild honey, worn lipstick and Victorian velvet (to make a coral shade) I applied colour to my panel - not too much as I wanted to keep it masculine
  • With the tape "mask" in place I then inked my Kaisercraft grid and crackle images with the Distress Ink in blueprint sketch and my Kaisercraft splatter (from Stains") using Versafine twilight ink
  • A quick spritz of Crafters Companion Spray and Shine, to protect the water based inks
  • I then decided it needed a few splats so, having now removed my mask, stamped my Paper Artsy small splatter (HTPX01) using Memento Paris dusk ink
  • Finally, I stamped the HLS sentiment (from "Doodled flower") using Versafine twilight ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Cardz4Guys - challenge No. 236 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  2. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 410 - COLOUR THEME (Living Coral and True Blue)
  3. Global Design Project - challenge No. 223 - CELEBRATION
  4. Make My Monday - challenge No. 113 - ANYTHING BUT SQUARE

Two fantastic makes Kathy and love the ATC with the grid and those fabulous keys, and then the masked and grid stencilled and splatter stamped card looks great in those purple tones. x

I would never have thought coral would work on a masculine card but the little hint of blending works brilliantly. Great choice of stamps too. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
