The start of another chilly week - must be Spring!

Morning all,

Was it cold over the weekend where you are? VERY chilly here, the MINI Beast from the East, we're told! SADLY, the weather foiled my plans to meet up with a pal who was in my neck of the woods (instead of 200+ miles north) for work. We HAD planned to meet for coffee before she started her journey homeward but the weather turned nastier and she decided to crack on and get home - TOTALLY understandable, just glad she made it safely home. We woke yesterday .. to this

Best thing to do was stay in and craft ... so I did! If you are a regular visitor to my blog then you will have seen my Friday post deploying the same Kaisercraft "botanica" set on a teal and white CAS card, I was really happy with the simplicity of the design and decided to try it using a different image from the set and on an A2/C6 card (instead of the square) - I really like this too. It's also perfect for last minute cards as it requires no colouring, other than the matching of the matting layer to the image colour. If you want to see my earlier version then check it out here, still PLANNING on having a go at making a masculine card but this pink just called to me!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit and one of neon pink, cut to mat
  • Kaisercraft image stamped multiple times using Ranger Archival vibrant fuchsia ink
  • Anita's sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Stardust stickles used to bling up the foliage
Kaisercraft's "Botanica" set and an unnamed/numbered Anita's sentiment - loving
the font of the sentiment though
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Simply Papercraft - challenge No. 55 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Starstampz - March 15th challenge - BIRTHDAY
  3. Through The Purple Haze - challenge No. 142 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 78 - ANYTHING GOES
And then, because it was so cold, it seemed like Christmas cards came back in to focus (can't IMAGINE why!)

My card
And a closer view of the image

Yes, we had this mini BFTE too but luckily with the sun today it is going quite fast never to return I hope..lol. I was supposed to have one of my shows last night but it had to be cancelled which was a shame but the sensible option. I love your pretty pink leaves, and your beautifully coloured Christmas card Kathy with lots of added sparkle looks great. Sorry you couldn't catch up with your friend too, you don't expect such bad weather when you get to the middle of March. x
