Welcome to the middle of the working week

Morning all,

And how IS your working week coming along? Did you have many plans disrupted by the snow? We had one coffee cancellation along with friends who had been coming to dinner rescheduling ... that will now be this coming weekend. The snow has now, thankfully, dispersed and I'm busy trying to put in place rescheduled appointments for meeting up with all my pals .. in fact I'm out to coffee this morning - leaving hubby at home to do "man stuff" at home whilst my pal and I put the World to rights over coffee - wish us all luck!

The inclement weather seemed like a perfect excuse to stay in and craft, so I did! and my CRAFTING is coming along at a cracking pace (egg reference will be explained below!, as soon as you check out the card!)

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit and a snippet of neon pink (from a recent project)
  • Woodware image and sentiments stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour
  • Stardust stickles and Anita's dimensional gloss - to embellish
Woodware's "Dancing chickens"
I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Addicted to CAS - challenge No. 132 - BIRDS
  2. Kraftin' Kimmie - March 17th challenge - SOMETHING NEW (my Woodware stamp set .. I've had it just a month, that's pretty new in my book)
  3. Jo's Scrap Shack - challenge No. 225 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Take a Word - March 18th challenge - EGGS ..... meh ... chicken/eggs ... the word EGG is in the sentiment, so I hope that will count!
  5. Try It On Tuesday - March 20th challenge - CALL OF SPRING mood board - see below .. I used the birds element as well as the Easter inference of the sentiment

And now on to an ATC .... I soooo love layering stamps to make my own background and these two Kaisers (IMHO) rock as a background ...

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in navy, turquoise and white
  • Kaisercraft dots image stamped using Ranger Archival paradise teal ink
  • Kaisercraft grid image stamped using Ranger Archival cobalt blue ink
  • Kaisercraft foliage image  and Ranger sentiment stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Tsukineko white gelly roll gel pen used to doodle a border
Ranger Letter-It "Celebration
Kaisercraft "Botanica set", "Mini Grid" and "Tiny Dots"
I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 322 - USE SNIPPETS
  2. The Corrosive Challenge - March challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting From The Heart - challenge No. 199 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Papercraft Challenges - challenge No. 7 - SENTIMENT AS THE FOCUS
  5. Through The Craft Room Door - March 20th challenge - ANYTHING GOES

A most egg-cellent Easter/Birthday card and a joyous ATC. What's not to love?

I bet you're sitting there with your pal enjoying coffee and a cake as I type!

I adore your cute and prettily coloured chicken Kathy and an egg-cellent sentiment too, and your ATC is just great. Glad to see the last of the snow and helps the social life get back on track One of the performances of the show I've been doing had to be cancelled too which was a shame. x

Lovely work Kathy! Love your snippets ATC - and your chick-a-dee card cracked me up! What a great stamp set that is - sitting on hands here as am busily sorting through craft stuff to take to Germany for the grand daughters in Summer. At this rate we might need to use the second hold suitcase we're allowed! Psst, Len just has NO idea of what's being plotted. Mind you - although I think they would cope better with wood mounted stamps - the weight would soon ramp up.

Lovely to see you in the Playground Kathy - I always read your blog even if I don't always have time to comment. You're a treasure and very loyal!

Saw your card in the Snippet Playground and came over for a closer look! (sorry to have been MIA for a while). Love that funky chick on #1, and really admire the stamp layering to create the awesome background on #2. Isn't it fun to create your own unique backgrounds when you do this kind of designing? This one turned out so splendidly! TFS & Happy Easter (hope you are not getting more snow this weekend).
