Monday and the start of another week ..

Morning all,

Time to welcome a new follower, thanks for joining me Swati, hope you will stop by again sometime. My followers list has been a bit up and down the last month or so as, I guess, peoples tastes change but THANK YOU to those of you who've been following me for a while, it's appreciated.

This time last week I was drinking coffee, in the garden, at an idyllic country location following a fabulous weekend of crafting with good friends - what a difference a week makes? Still, there's next years to look forward to and I have some crafting to share with you anyway ... we did a lot of playing with paint at the craft retreat so, I headed to my ToC (Table of Craftiness) armed with my acrylic paints and a  brayer and the ATC you see below is one of the results. It's for a swap with my Isle of Skye trading card buddy and our theme was "INSECTS" - I wouldn't mind but I have a wicked insect bite on my lower leg, as we speak - what's that all about?!?!?!

My ATC
Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in dark green and white
  • Taking the white snippet I brayered the turquoise and green paints and set aside to dry
  • Once dry I stamped the bee image using black ink and sprinkled with clear embossing powder before heat setting
  • Sentiment stamped using black ink
  • Sharpie used to add orange to the bodies and pink to the wings
  • Stardust stickles to embellish the wings
STAMPS: Precious Remembrance Shop "New Day" and C Artus "Bee"
PAINTS: Paper Artsy fresco paints "south pacific" and Limelight + Pebeo iridescent yellow/green
Ranger Archival jet black ink, clear embossing powder
Sharpie pens and stardust stickles
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Patties Creations - challenge No. 147 - ANYTHING THAT FLIES
  2. Simply Papercraft For All Occasions - challenge No. 58 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 328 - USE SNIPPETS
  4. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 83 - ANYTHING GOES

I'm still trying to make at least one Christmas card each week in order to prevent a mad dash to the finish line come November. A friend of mine is posting a theme each week and, sadly, I've fallen a little behind but I'm trying to catch up - seems like it's two paces forward and then one back though as this is week 22 entry - "pine cones" but she will have posted a new one yesterday and I still have weeks 18 (snow globes) and 19 (zentangle or doodling) to do.

Thought I had been following you but seems not. Now
I am but blogger in its wisdom puts me in incognito so I list my blog as the first one when you open my blank icon up. Valeryanne designs.
Super bees on your ATC card. Allergic to any insect bites so this time of the year I always carry my pills with me! Hugs Mrs A.

Just checked and am still following you Kathy! Love your snippets card of course (and the Christmas one as well). Lagging behind my card totals for Christmas here as well - basically can't get up the enthusiasm, sigh. I do love how you sparkeled the little insects' wings - lovely finishing touch!

Hugs
