Welcome to midweek

Morning all

I was at Craftathon 2018 over the weekend, we all prepared a shoebox project for those awkward little gaps when you have to left glue, ink, paint etc dry! My shoebox project for this weekend is a technique called "Rivetted patchwork" and here's an example of the technique used ... you can see more in my Monday post here, along with a link to a video. I really quite enjoyed the technique and it gave me the chance to use lots of little bits and bobs I had lying around the place too - since going CAS (Clean And Simple) I don't find I use too many embellishments these days.

My card

Materials used:
  • White 12½cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card (300gsm) cut to 10½cm square
  • Two pieces of black card cut to 11½cm square
  • Stamplorations die cut "Happy" and "Birthday"
  • One one of the white pieces I laid out my sequin waste, washers (from The Range) and die cut sentiment
  • Metal tape cut in to pieces and laid over my design in patchwork form
  • Using an embossing tool I traced round the pieces, to define them
  • Additionally I used a Walnut Hollow roller to add texture and to simulate the "rivets"
  • Black gesso sponged over the design and set aside to dry
  • When virtually dry I knocked back the gesso using a slightly moist baby wipe and again set aside to dry
  • Prima alchemy rose metallique wax rubbed around the outside and burnished
  • For the inside, reverse and envelope I stamped the Dovecraft sentiment (DCSTP106) and coffee stain outline /solid circles (Artistic Stamper "Swirls, splats and dots) using Memento tuxedo black and London fog inks

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Dream Valley Challenges - challenge No. 180 - FOR A MAN/BOY
  2. Crafty Cardmakers - challenge No. 213 - FOR A MAN/BOY
  3. Cards in Envy - June 4th challenge - LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOY

but I don't know how to reply on the message! But yes, well spotted- it was a JOFY stamp from Paper Artsy.
