Welcome to SUNNY Saturday!

Hi readers,

How's your Saturday coming along? Well it's SUPPOSED to be sunny - after all, it IS summer! The LONGEST day looms large ..

I recently nipped to Hobbycraft and acquired some metallic paints including the last stock bottle of the GORGEOUS purple ..... well colour me vexed when I went to break the seal and discovered someone had CAREFULLY already done so and obviously used some of it .... there was a crust of paint around the inner cap! GRRRRRRRRRRR.

My  haul from Hobbycraft

I've a project to share with you today....

My card

close up of the sparkle!

And my embossed and slightly grungey panel

Materials used:
  • Snippet of white card painted using the gorgeous iridescent green (tube on the left in the above photo) and then run through my big shot inside a Tim Holtz embossing folder
  • Deco Art Dazzling Metallics purple painted over the top and then removed (just before it was dry) using a moist baby wipe, a la faux tarmac technique!
  • Deep Purple card for matting, edged with a Martha Stewart PATP punch
  • Light purple card for matting
  • Stampers Anonymous "runway" image stamped using Stazon vibrant violet ink
  • Background coloured with Peerless water colours
  • Stampers Anonymous circles image stamped using Memento grape jelly ink
  • Crystal stickles to highlight circles
  • Judikins micro glaze applied to water based inks, to waterproof

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:-
  1. Crafty Creations - challenge No. 291 - EMBOSSING

And on to another card ..... I am LOVING the black on black, even (possibly) more than the class white on white ... and it seems like it makes the perfect card for a young male ..... check it out and see if you agree  .... I made this yesterday evening and this is my first opportunity to share it with you - spooky how many challenges it fits!

My card

And a close up to show the stencilling detail

And the co-ordinating inside and envelope

Materials used:
  • 15cm square white, 300gsm, scallop edged card blank and matching sized envelope
  • White card snippet for image panel
  • Grey card and black card snippets, for matting
  • Distress Ink in black soot applied to the white card snippet using a Tim Holtz mini blending tool
  • Using the same ink I sponged through the following TCW stencils:- mini numbers and faux brick
  • Creative Expressions star image stamped using Ranger Archival jet black ink
  • Kaisercraft sentiment stamped using the Ranger Archival et black ink
  • Judikins micro glaze applied to the water based inks, to seal

I'll be entering this for the following challenges:
  1. Friday Mashup - challenge No. 214 - STENCIL THIS or MONOCHROME or BOTH
  2. Uniko - challenge No. 22 - ANYTHING GOES with the added twist of masculine
  3. Brown Sugar - challenge No. 151 - MONOCHROMATIC
  4. Colour My Heart - Colour Dare No. 147 - MONOCHROMATIC
  5. Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 229 - STENCILLING

Have a great weekend peeps

Oh how vexing indeed to find your purple paint was second hand !! I'll bet you'll be having a 'quiet' word in someone's ear on your next visit to HC ?

Love your purple creation matey, you are doing such fabulous things with those metallic paints. I love them too (remember Rotherham ?) but the colours I have are more muted shades - can see I need to add to my stash ;0)

Your BoB male card is a triumph ! I quite agree, BoB is a rival to WoW I can see.

Can't wait to be reunited with my stash now, all this fabulous inspiration has my imagination all fired up !

Happy Saturday to you too, hope mr sun puts in an appearance for you today, we have so much sunshine here I'm sure we can spare some for you ;oD I'll send it right over.
