Morning and welcome to Saturday!

Morning folks,

Did it rain again last evening? Crikey, yes - it did! We had thunder and lightning too, though no power outages in our part of Bristol. This morning has dawned bright and sunny though the weather forecast predicts rain during the day - glad I got most of my "heavy" washing done yesterday and out of the way - just the usual mound of resulting ironing but at least it's not a mountain this time as I've been very good with my ironing this past week - she says, feeling smugly self righteous!!!

Anyhoo, Saturday's are usually challenge days but today is slightly different. The lovely team over at Craft Mad and Loving It are having a well deserved summer break from presenting the sketches so there will be no sketchie now until September 17th. I'd like to thank the team of Karen, Lauren and Rosie for their diligence with presenting sketches as each of the three has had a challenging year of their own in 2011. I have always tried to enter a card for their challenges and believe I've only missed one or two since they started up in July 2010 and have been privileged to have present several sketchies myself as a Guest Design Team Member - so, enjoy your break ladies and recharge your batteries and see you back in September. So, instead of the Saturday Sketchie a thread's been posted to showcase individual members makes .......

The other challenge for me for a Saturday is over on the Simply Less Is More blog and this challenge is posted at 08:00, this week Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us to something a little different.

WEEK 30 - this week we are back to Sketch or Recipe

We have chosen a Recipe this time:

Take 3 Challenges - We want you to choose 3 from any of our previous 29 and combine them in your design.

There is a list of our previous challenges under the tab heading at the top of our blog and you can also see the previous sketches under a separate tab. Please state which 3 you have chosen.

NB There is no need to adhere to the One Layer if that is on the week you choose. You may wish to go for your favourites or maybe your least...acetate springs to mind!

Most of all, be creative, have fun, remember our white space and the all important "Less is More".

So, if you fancy trying Clean And Simple, why not pop over there and check it out! I've managed mine though only just in time to post this and still call it morning!! The three challenges I selected were: Masculine, monochrome and in the frame, though something that moves would obviously fit too! It was tricky deciding which three to go with and then ended up with a 4th that kind of fit too!!! Some GORGEOUS entries already posted - I so love to look at what everyone else does with the challenges.

Materials used:
  • C6 300gsm Kraft card and matching envelope
  • White panel distressed using frayed burlap, tea dye and black soo
  • Slightly smaller white panel edged with D.I. pumice stone just to dull the starkness of the white
  • Funstamps image inked in Memento tuxedo black
  • Imagine that sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black
  • Stamping Up .6mm black marker to draw border freehand

Happy Saturday

Gorgeous! Love the uncoloured image and the stitched frame. And you live in Bristol? My favourite UK city! Haven't been in over 6 years but would love to get back there sooner rather than later. :)

What a wonderful masculine card! I struggle with masculine cards, I rarely can fight the urge to add a ribbon or a flower!! That's a lovely image of a car :)

It's absolutely poured down here today and did all day yesterday too-I hope the summer comes soon!! :)

Great masculine card. I find it so difficult to make any cards for the boys. I'm also jealous of your free-hand drawing. I love it when I see it, but am afraid to try it myself. Maybe I should just dive in, right?
