Morning - here it is hump day Wednesday . . . again!

Morning and welcome to Whats On Your Work Desk Wednesday .... but first.

After tackling the north face of the ironing yesterday .....  I decided to make some cards. I had recently done some brayering and had inked up a couple of panels, two of which found their way on to the cards below, and the other one turned in to the fairy mess up panel! ('nuff said). To achieve these panels I used graduated colour ink pads on the more successful panels: Ranger Stamp It (Electric) and Kaleidacolor (Pastel) and individual pads on the fairy panel and I'm sensing a lesson to be learned somewhere!

Materials used
  • C5 white 300gsm card and envelope
  • Black card panel edged on one side with an EK Success punch and distressed on the other three sides, using my Tim Holtz distressing tool.
  • White card panel brayered using a Ranger "Stamp It" graduated colour  ink pad (it's called ELECTRIC and consists of blue/pink/green/purple)!
  • Paper Artsy Diamond stamp inked in Memento grape jelly inked twice on the panel, in opposing corners
  • Paper Artsy lines image inked in Versacolour gold twice on the opposing corners
  • Tim Holtz line of birds and sentiment and Paper Artsy thistle image inked in Ranger Archival jet black.
  • The whole panel was edged in versacolour gold before attaching to the black panel and then the base card.
  • Anita's Sentiment inked in Ranger Archival jet black across the top
And the other panel turned in to a similar and yet quite different and more girlie option ....

 Materials used:
  • 8" white 300gsm  and envelope
  • Black panel
  • Pink check panel by DCWV
  • Brayered panel using Kaleidacolour pastel palette
  • Paper Artsy diamond image (stamped twice in opposing corners) and sentiment inked in Memento Rhubarb
  • Paper Artsy lines image inked twice in versacolour lime
  • Sunshine Designs flowerburst inked in Memento grape jelly
  • Quickie glue pen run roughly over the starburst flower (but not on 100% of the flower) and sprinkled liberally with co-ordinating Fairy Dust from Kirsten Lapping Designs
And there you have my collage-y cards - hope you like them both - I know I DO! And doesn't it show how two similarly stamped and brayered designs can turn out so completely differently too!

And what, you might ask, IS on my work desk today then? WELL having been sooooooooooooo very taken with Kate Crane's Art Journaling DVD's I'm going to try and apply this to scrap booking and yesterday gesso'd a sheet of 12" x 12" paper, like so .....And on a non craft subject, last evening was spent (very enjoyably I might add) at our pal and neighbour, Debbie's, so thanks Debbie for a great evening.

Hope you will have a great Wednesday - I have a physio appointment this morning so have scheduled this post in case I don't feel overly sociable when I come back!!!

Congrats on conquering the north face. Hope you remembered to leave a flag... LOL

Loving your cards, particularly the first one. The purple and the green are just lovely together. Look forward to seeing what promise that last sheet of paper offers.

Two splendid creations young kathy, if I had to choose then I'd go for the first one by the tiniest margin !

Can't wait to see what the 12x12 gesso'd sheet turns into......
