Hi there and welcome to Sunday

And a particularly soggy one it is too - well here, anyway! No model flying for hubby and he's showing an extreme reluctance to venture out to get the Sunday paper too! Can't say that I blame as it is really unpleasant out there at the mo - mind you, been like it since 08:00!

Think it will be an indoors day and then rounded off by watching Lucius Malfoy (sorry Jason Isaacs) in Case Histories this evening!, possibly over a glass of something and possibly not!

Over on Craftbubble's Craft Mad & Loving It there is a Sunday themed challenge which, this week, is set by Lauren ........ except she's having computer problems this past few weeks! I had to post her photos yesterday for the sketch as she was unable to! Lauren has come up with the theme of HAPPY PROJECTS, and image/colour/project just so long as it makes you happy!!

I made a bit of a hash of a CAS card for the Simply Less Is More blog - I'm just not sure this works - what do you (dear readers) think of it? EDITED TO READ ..... Debs asked why I thought I'd made a hash of it ..... well, I just thought the scale of the image was wrong and I also thought I should perhaps have raised my sentiment a little so my border went through the middle but I guess it's all about perception isn't it?

Materials used:
  • 5" square white card and envelope
  • Paper Artsy image and sentiment inked with Memento tuxedo black
  • Frame hand drawn using an SU fineliner

Having completely missed the bit about LOVE on the Red/Green/Silver theme over on the ABC of Christmas challenge I thought I should have another go.

Materials used:
  • 5" square white card
  • Red panel, corners rounded
  • Green striped panel corners rounded
  • Silver ribbon
  • Darcies image and sentiment inked in Memento tuxedo black on to white card and cut out
  • Silver mirri card scalloped oval matted on to red scalloped oval
  • Pro markers to colour and crystal stickles to highlight
Hope you are enjoying better weather where you are - have a fab Sunday

Hi Kathy, We are own worst critics, your cards are lovely but if you think you can improve them, Yay that's great too, it's always a learning process. That's what I think anyway, you might think I'm totally out of my cage or off my rocker, LOL I love your cards anyway! The first is a classy contrast and the Christmas card's loads of fun. Shame about the rain, poor hubby, smiles, Gay xx

Wouldn't it be boring if we never stopped learning...
Both cards are lovely so don't worry about it, am sure the Divas will give you loads of encouragement. Annette x

Love the cards Kathy, and they couldn't be more different could they? I think overall I prefer your pink circle frame card over this all black one, but I really don't see anything wrong with it at all! Cute little snowman card too, love that image, must get back into making more Christmas cards again, I seem to have let that go a bit recently!

Hi Kathy - I have to giggle, we are all our own toughest critics - I sit looking at every card I make working out what's not right and how I could have made it better. I've never made a perfect card yet!!
Both these are fabulous cards, your LIM one is fantastic - that frame is perfct and I really like it just as it is!!

Hi Kathy, I really like you black and white card and can't see ANYTHING wrong with it. I think you are super great for being able to draw a frame like that by HAND!!! I find that sooo difficult... never seem to get it straight enough with out a ruler then it looks false, so well done. Oh and i like the cheery Christmas card to. Sue x

I love the layout Kathy, I wouldn't have changed it myself. I think if the border had gone through the sentiment it may have made the sentiment hard to read. The image size is fabulous, it a gorgeous image, of course it should be prominent. Very elegant card indeed.

Really like your LIM card, why are we stampers never completely satisfied with what we've made? Is perfect so stop beating yourself up. Kx

HI, have been off on my jollies so have a lot of catching up to do. I think that both the sentiment and the main feature stamp are well positioned. Being off centre the sentiment is more part of the main portion of the card while just breaking up the frame. The hand drawn frame is inspired.
